Omex Agriculture is the largest independent suspension and liquid fertiliser
manufacturer in the UK.
Manufacturing plants are strategically placed in the agricultural heartlands,
servicing customers from the Scottish Borders to Essex and across the West
Midlands into Wales.
The suspension fertilisers are supplied and applied, using a network of
dedicated agricultural contractors. Also available is a range of solution
fertilisers, including nitrogen, for application through conventional farm
sprayers.
Service is at the heart of the Omex offer. A team of FACTS qualified technical
fertiliser specialists and agronomists supply a Total Crop Nutrition service to
farmer customers. This involves tailoring customised fertiliser mixes to each
field according to crop needs and makes use of
soil analysis and
SAP analysis.
Part of the programme also involves the use of
foliar nutrients,
biostimulants and plant health promoters to make sure that crop potential is optimised both in terms of quality as well as quantity.
In addition Omex actively works with environmental organisations such as LEAF,
to provide customers with up-to-date nutritional programmes which are
environmentally friendly.
An increasing number of customers are now switching part of their farm to organic
production. To cater for their requirements, Omex Agriculture is working closely
with the Soil Association to register a comprehensive range of
organic fertilisers.
A major area of leading-edge research is that of Plant Health Promotion. Omex is
developing a range of nutrient-based speciality fertilisers specifically targeted
at improving crop health. Research has shown that improvements in crop health
benefit not only the crop, but also the environment by minimising the need for
routine pesticide use.
