Airports UK is the principal body that represents the interests of UK airports, engaging with the Government and regulatory authorities on airport matters and playing a vital role in shaping the future of aviation in the UK. It provides a powerful platform for collaboration, advocacy and industry advancement, which is why OMEX has committed to becoming a new member of the organisation.
As a well established company and an industry leader in de-icing products, OMEX becoming a member of Airports UK is a strategic move. We have been supporting the aviation sector with innovative, environmentally responsible solutions for over three decades and our decision to join this organisation marks a significant milestone for our company and our de-icing division. Airports UK members include over 50 airports and nearly 100 associate members, ranging from service providers to infrastructure specialists.
By joining this influential network, we gain direct access to key stakeholders, with whom we can participate in working groups, and contribute to the development of best practices across the industry. For our de-icer team, this means deeper insights into the operational challenges airports face during winter months and a stronger voice in shaping the standards that govern airside safety and sustainability.
We have a shared vision with Airports UK which is to enhance operational resilience while minimising environmental impact. Our de-icer product manager, Hannah Allen, recently attended the Operations Conference in Manchester where the theme was ‘Protect, Adapt and Recover – Resilient Airports’ with talks from the Civil Aviation Authority, The Department of Transport and Cranfield University to name but a few.
These gatherings provide invaluable opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and showcasing our latest innovations. This visibility is more than just a marketing win, it is a reflection of our credibility, reliability, and long-standing commitment to the industry.
As we look ahead, OMEX is eager to deepen its involvement with the UK Aviation industry and continue delivering value to our airport customers. Whether through tailored de-icing solutions, collaborative research, or active participation in industry forums, we remain dedicated to helping airports operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably – no matter the weather.
