Michael Joins OMEX Ireland

We’re continuing to strengthen our presence in Ireland with the appointment of a second sales manager, reflecting our sustained growth and long-term commitment to the Irish market.

Michael Farrell, a fourth-generation tillage farmer from County Carlow, joins the business to support existing customer relationships while driving further expansion across both the tillage and grassland sectors. His appointment comes at a time of increasing demand for liquid fertiliser solutions, as Irish farmers look for greater efficiency, accuracy and reliability in nutrient management.

Get In Touch

Continued Investment In Irish Agriculture

We have invested significantly in infrastructure to support growth in Ireland, including the development of our liquid fertiliser terminal at the Port of Cork, the largest of its kind throughout Ireland. This facility provides nationwide coverage and ensures consistent supply of OMEX’s liquid nitrogen and sulphur products.

Michael brings a strong combination of practical farming experience and commercial expertise. Alongside managing his family’s 450-acre tillage farm, he previously worked within the malting and distilling supply chain and co-founded the Carlow Malting Company, where he developed grower networks and cereal supply chains for the brewing and distilling industry.

“We’re seeing continued growth in demand for liquid fertiliser across Ireland, and Michael’s appointment, working alongside Luke Thornton, strengthens our ability to support both existing customers and new enquiries. His practical farming background and supply chain experience make him a strong addition to the team at an important stage of our development.”

OMEX Strengthens Irish Growth

Commenting on his new role Michael added “On our home farm we are switching completely away from granular fertiliser to OMEX’s Nitroflo range of liquid fertilisers.”

“Liquid nitrogen fertiliser offers significant benefits over granular, especially application accuracy, product quality, timing flexibility and uptake, cost and increasingly environmental considerations,” he says. “There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the future of crop nutrition in Ireland will be liquid and foliar driven. I’m able to share my knowledge and add value to tillage and grassland farmers and key distributor partners.”

With growing adoption of liquid nutrition systems and continued investment in infrastructure and people, we are well positioned to further expand OMEX’s footprint in Ireland.
