Soil sampling is one of the many services offered by OMEX, and we want to answer any questions you may have about this service:<\/p>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Why is Soil Sampling so important?<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>In order to gain the best from your crop it&#8217;s vital to know the nutritional status of the soil, only possible after regular, quality soil sampling.\u00a0<strong>Soil sampling can\u00a0<em>earn<\/em>\u00a0money<\/strong>\u00a0by indicating the correct fertiliser analyses required for crops and identifying yield-limiting deficiencies.<\/p>\n<p>Fertile, well maintained soils are more productive than those with marginal soil indicies and the crops grown use nitrogen efficiently, reducing the risk of environmental pollution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Soil sampling\u00a0<em>saves<\/em>\u00a0money<\/strong>\u00a0by indicating where nutrients are not required, particularly phosphate, potash and sodium<\/p>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What Does A\u00a0Routine Soil Sample Analysis Include?<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Phosphate, potash, magnesium and pH.\u00a0 It is also possible to include boron, sodium, sulphur, copper and zinc analysis.\u00a0 Soil nitrogen testing is also available from OMEX by prior arrangement.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How Are The Results Reported?<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>The index system developed by Defra is used by all laboratories when they report results. In order to show whether a result is near the top or bottom of an index, OMEX report to one decimal place.<\/p>\n<p>The soil nutrient status is displayed as colour coded\u00a0easy-to-interpret horizontal bar graphs.\u00a0 Results are available as printed copies, emailed files or as data for uploading into farm recording software.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What Does It Cost?<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>There is no charge for soil sampling from OMEX, unless there is no purchase of fertiliser following the testing.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How Often Should I Have Soil Sampling Carried Out?<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Well managed fields usually only require sampling every four to five years.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How do I arrange OMEX soil sampling<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>Contact your local district sales manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.omex.co.uk\/contact-us\/agriculture-contacts\/sales-managers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OMEX want to let you know all about their soil sampling service, which is\u00a0free\u00a0for OMEX customers.
