Strengthening Our Agronomy Expertise
We have appointed experienced agronomist Phil Burrell as our new Head of Agronomy, strengthening our technical capability as we continue to invest in innovative crop nutrition solutions and support our ambitious long-term growth plans.
Phil joins us with more than 25 years of experience in agronomy, crop nutrition and practical farming. He joins us from ProCam, where he held a joint Head of Agronomy Teams and Crop Nutrition Manager role.
Prior to that, between 2018 and 2024, he held senior technical and commercial roles at Yara, including leading its liquid fertiliser sales team and working as a Product Manager within its foliar nutrition and biostimulant division.
He began his commercial career with Syngenta’s agronomy team after studying at agricultural college and working in farm management.
In his new role, Phil will lead our agronomy strategy, helping to further develop our technical offering while supporting growers with practical, evidence-based crop nutrition advice that delivers both economic and environmental benefits.
Find out more about our Crop Nutrition
Crop protection safeguards yield, but nutrition unlocks yield potential. Getting nutrition right is often the difference between profit and loss.
Phil Burrell, Head of Agronomy
He believes the principles of the three Rs of crop nutrition, applying the right product, in the right place and at the right time, remain fundamental to achieving profitable and sustainable crop production.
Commenting on his decision to join us, Phil says: “OMEX represents the future of crop nutrition in UK agriculture. It is a business that is firmly focused on the needs of UK farmers. As a family-owned business, its culture and values resonated with me.”
Phil’s appointment reflects our continued investment in technical excellence and our commitment to supporting UK growers with industry-leading crop nutrition advice. He brings an exceptional wealth of practical farming experience and technical expertise.
